Take a free ride on the JCT Fixed Route System by showing your ETSU student ID.

The Ride Guide section of the website provides more information about the routes and stops on the JCT fixed route system. Most destinations will require you to ride the bus to the Transit Center, located at 137 West Market Street in downtown, in order to transfer to a second bus that will take you to your destination. Please inform the driver when boarding the bus that you will need a transfer.

The following table shows the first and last run of each route as it leaves the Transit Center, Monday-Friday and on Saturday.

JCT Fixed Routes that serve ETSU

Please see the following information for traveling to popular destinations within the city from the ETSU campus housing areas.

The Purple - State of Franklin and W. Walnut Route (15 Til) and the Purple - ETSU Route (15 After) have stops located in or near the campus, serving the eastern and southern portions of campus. Please see the housing areas below and what you will need to do to board these buses. Please remember that the stop times are for both picking up and dropping off.

Traveling to the Transit Center from ETSU on Monday-Friday, by housing area

From Centennial Hall:

1. Walk to the corner of Lake Street and Stout Drive.
2. Cross the street to the ETSU sign - JCT Stop 9 on the map.
3. Get on the Purple - ETSU (15 After) fixed route bus (runs 22 minutes after the hour).

From Govenors Hall:

1. Walk to the corner of Lake Street and J.L. Seehorn Drive.
2. Cross the street to stand at the corner of Lake and Seehorn, beside the library - JCT Stop 10 on the map.
3. Get on the Purple - ETSU (15 After) fixed route bus (runs 23 minutes after the hour).

From Buc Ridge & Buc Village:

1. Get on BUCSHOT Gold (runs every 15 minutes) and get off at Stop 6 - corner of Village Lane and Southwest Avenue.
2. Cross the road to the other side and remain on the corner of Southwest Avenue and Village Lane near Parking Lot # 14 - JCT Stop 11 on the map.
3. Get on the Purple - ETSU (15 After) fixed route bus (runs 24 minutes after the hour).

From Campus Ridge and Woodland Park:

1. Get on BUCSHOT Blue (runs every 15 minutes) and get off at Stop 5 - Bell & Ross.
2. Board the BUCSHOT Red (runs every 15 minutes) and get off at Stop 13 - Mini Dome Lot.
3. Cross Sherrod Drive to the corner of State of Franklin - JCT Stop 28 (15 After) and Stop 29 (15 Til).
4. Get on the Purple fixed route bus (runs 6 and 33 minutes after the hour).

From University Edge:

1. Walk to the West Watuage Ave entrance of the complex. There is a JCT bus stop at the entrance and one is across the street.
2. The Purple State of Franklin & West Walnut (15 Til) fixed route bus stops at the entrance (runs 47 minutes after the hour).
3. This bus also returns by State of Franklin Rd and stops near the entrance across the street (runs 9 minutes after the hour).
4. Also, the Purple ETSU (15 After) fixed route bus stops near the entrance across the street (runs 36 minutes after the hour).

You may also catch the Purple fixed route bus at these locations and times near the campus.

Purple 15 After:

• Stop 8 - Lake Street at University School Crosswalk - 22 minutes after the hour
• Stop 9 - Corner of Lake Street and Stout Drive - 22 minutes after the hour
• Stop 10 - Lake Street and J.L. Seehorn Drive - 23 minutes after the hour
• Stop 11 - Southwest Avenue at Buc Village Crosswalk - 24 minutes after the hour
• Stop 27 - State of Franklin and Jack Vest Drive - 32 minutes after the hour
• Stop 28 - State of Franklin and Sherrod Drive - 33 minutes after the hour
• Stop 29 - Lake Street and West Walnut Street - 34 minutes after the hour

Purple 15 Til:

• Stop 4 - State of Franklin and Millenium Blvd (near pedestrian bridge) - 50 minutes after the hour
• Stop 28 - State of Franklin and Jack Vest Drive - 5 minutes after the hour
• Stop 29 - State of Franklin and Sherrod Drive - 6 minutes after the hour
• Stop 30 - State of Franklin and Lake Street - 7 minutes after the hour

Traveling to the Transit Center from ETSU on Saturday

The BUCSHOT service and the Purple - State of Franklin and W. Walnut Route (15 Til) do not run on Saturdays. Residents of Centennial and Govenors Hall will board the bus as usual. Residents of Buc Ridge and Buc Village will not be able to ride BUCSHOT Gold and will need to walk to the stop on Southwest Avenue. Residents of Campus Ridge and Woodland Park will need to walk or ride a bike to the closest stop on the Purple - ETSU Route (15 After), which is at the corner of Greenwood Road and Seminole Drive (runs 30 minutes after the hour). Please remember that most buses are equipped with bike racks should you need to ride your bike to a bus stop.

Which Bus to transfer to at the Transit Center

Now, which bus do you transfer to once you reach the Transit Center in order to reach your destination?

Please remember that in order to catch the Purple - ETSU Route (15 After) bus to campus, you must be back to the Transit Center by 5:15 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.

For example, the last bus leaves the Browns Mill Walmart at 4:40 p.m. on the Silver Route, Monday through Friday, and 3:40 p.m. on Saturday. The last bus leaves the Mall at 5:00 p.m. on the Gold Route, Monday through Friday, and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
